5 Fall Jewelry Trends From The Runway

pc fashionisers This past February, designers, fashion lovers and celebrities partook in fashion month, during which the newest trends for fall hit catwalks around the world. Trend-spotters keep their eyes peeled, often using the “rule of three,” which is explained here, to determine a style’s staying power. When a trend hits the runway a third time, it’s safe to say that it will become a staple in trendsetters’ wardrobes for the season.

Fall 2015 ready-to-wear trends include ‘70s motifs, furry flair and patchwork galore, to name a few. However, while the clothing is often the main course for a fashion show guest, one must not forget that the accessories are the cherry on top for ultimate style success. With the right jewelry, an outfit elevates from plain to put-together, and trend-spotters would be missing a big point if they only paid attention to the ready-to-wear options on the runways.

Caught on the catwalk, there are five big jewelry trends that fashion followers are already wearing. Some more unexpected than others, style savants will be able to express their innermost creativity with these not-so-subtle jewelry looks.

1. (Fake) Nose Rings
A page out of the punk fashion book, rebellious nose rings are receiving a high-fashion, non-committal makeover this season, with fake nose rings gracing faces in a whole new style. Dainty septum jewels like those seen on Acne Studios’ models are an edgy way to add uniqueness and accessorize unconventionally.

2. Brooches
Brooches have emerged with modernism and ornate detail, leaving behind dated garishness. Spotted in runway shows like Fausto Puglisi, Edun, Balenciaga, Parada and Luisa Beccaria, as chronicled in this article, the once old-fashioned piece is now an indicator of fashion forward chicness.

3. Chokers
The ‘90s are back with thick, bold chokers. Some are cascading with couture details, such as the Swarovski crystal varieties found at Balenciaga’s show. Louis Vuitton preferred to reside with the gothic, rocker feel of the ’80s, offering leather chokers. Virtually any choker style is a hit this season.

4. Statement Rings
Though stacked rings are still stylish, the new finger fashion involves adorning your hands with large, baroque statement-making rings like many found in this collection—sometimes with a few on each hand. On the catwalk, Gucci’s Art Deco rings were plentiful and complementary to one another, creating a style worth the joint effort.

5. Pearls
Often reserved for sorority girls and prepsters, pearls are being seen from a fresh perspective this fall, appearing in magnified sizes and darker hues in addition to the traditional white style. According to this report, Cuff bracelets and ear jackets were seen on the runways with the ‘80s-esque attitude brought on by big pearls.

What do you think about these fall jewelry trends? Do you think they’re all here to stay or are some destined to fade?

Tips for Brighter, Tighter Skin

tighter skinHave you found the change of seasons and colder weather causes some serious changes in our skin? It’s something I’ve noticed even more into my twenties- maybe you have too. So, you aren’t the only one dealing with that problem, and thankfully there are plenty of solutions out there. All you have to do is know where to look and what to look for. I’ve rounded up a few of my favorite ways to treat dry and lackluster skin to get it looking brighter and tighter! Let’s take a quick look at some of the options.

At home: Treating dull or sagging skin at home is the easiest option. There are many creams and masks that will give your skin a plumper and more hydrated appearance. This is the best place to start, in my opinion, because it’s the least costly and the easiest to experiment and see what really works for your skin. You also have to remember to apply them to your skin regularly and not skip treatments, if you want to see any results at all.

There are also hand-held laser and light devices you can use for a more powerful treatment option that still takes place in the comfort of your home. These are becoming more popular for busy women on the go, and for those on a budget.

Make an Appointment:
Now, if you’re dealing with more advanced skin issues, you also have the option of going to a clinic for a laser appointment, but not just any laser appointment. You have to figure out which type of medical laser equipment will offer you the best results. There are so many different types of lasers that it will all depend on your skin color and type, as well as what type of procedure you want to have. Some laser procedures have almost no side effect risks, while others can leave you temporarily vulnerable to skin infections. So, you will have to carefully weigh those risks.

You can also choose to have your skin sags treated with non-laser medical procedures. Sound wave therapy can be a great choice if you’re worried about side effects, since it doesn’t usually cause any at all. However, chemical peels or microdermabrasion will help your skin to look smoother and healthier more quickly, but not without a little pain and minor side effect risks. If you are looking for more dramatic results, I would definitely recomment giving an in office peel or microdermabrasion a try. A few of my friends have gone this route, and been really pleased with the results. The side effects of peeling or redness are totally worth the long-term results.

In short, it’s important to look at all of your choices before you have any procedure done or buy any sort of at-home product. A little research and some expert advice should help you to figure out which method is actually worth your time and money. Always choose a method that is good for someone with your skin type, and you should see results eventually. This is definitely the time of year to be thinking about taking better care of our skin- so get started now!

SugarBash “A Healthy Glow” Box Review

Hi friends, and happy FALL! I’m so happy we’ve hit the most wonderful time of the year. Fall is my favorite for so many reasons. The pumpkins, apples, sweaters, and the holidays just around the corner… ooh, I get giddy just thinking about it! I am a fall loving girl, through and through.

Today I’m here with my latest SugarBash Box and this month was a great theme: Healthy Glow. The tagline is “Summer left you tanned and toned. Keep the glowing going all Fall!”

It’s full of products that will keep you “glowing” all the way around- whether it’s helping you break a healthy sweat or hydrated your skin and hair. Take a look at everything that came in this month’s box:
SugarBash Healthy GlowSBOct5 Essie All-In-One 3-Way Glaze Polish ($10 value): I love all things Essie and I have actually used this 3 in 1 base, top coat, and strengthener before… and it’s awesome. The name “glaze” fits this perfectly because you are left with a shiny glazed look when you use it as a top coat.

U rave Blissed Out Shimmer Powder from Tat2U Makeup ($12 value): This lovely highlight is a very natural champagne color and I have been loving it as an inner corner highlight on my eyes. It makes them look more awake! It is highly pigmented and a little goes a LONG way so I feel like this little container will last me nearly forever. SBOct4Sea Salt Slim Popcorn from The Popcorn Factory ($2 value): I love finding a fun snack in my SB boxes, and this popcorn was SO tasty. I love popcorn and The Popcorn Factory makes amazing quality popcorn so definitely check them out if you haven’t already!

SugarBash Limited Edition Fitness and Training Jump Rope ($15 value): My favorite elementary school recess pastime was definitely jumping rope with my girlfriends. Isn’t it funny how you just let some things go once you reach adulthood… but deep down you still really love them? I can’t wait to give jumping rope a whirl again… plus it’s great exercise!

The Savvy Coconut Fitness Headband ($4 value): This fun SugarBash purple spandex headband is from a cute shop called The Savvy Coconut and is perfect for absorbing your workout “glow”. It is super lightweight and stretchy and stays in place perfectly. [Read more…]

Spongellé Body Contouring Buffer Review & Coupon Code

Spongellé InfusedLast month I shared about a new favorite bath line called Spongelle. Today I’m sharing about another amazing product from their luxury spa line. Their Anti-Cellulite Infused Buffer is dual sided sponge infused with body wash. It uses SalSphere technology while massaging, smoothing, exfoliating, and detoxifying areas prone to cellulite. Using the buffer in a circular motion on the skin while showering will not only leave you with smoother skin but it will increase circulation to that area leaving you with a more toned feeling.

I love to use the buffer before shaving my legs for a closer shave. I also use it before self tanning to make sure I remove dead skins cells and make my skin as even as possible. So far, it has lasted me 15+ showers and is still going strong. The lather is rich and creamy, and I always feel hydrated when I get out of the shower.

I was sent their “Beach Grass” scent, and oh my goodness is it heavenly! It’s such a relaxing, calming scent and truly reminds me of standing in the sand and breathing in the ocean air. Spongelle5 Here are some of the benefits of using the Spongelle Body Contouring Buffer:

-Good for you ingredients: enriched with coffee, arnica, and sea kelp
-Multi-Function: formulated to cleanse, exfoliate, & massage, all-in-one easy application
-Multi-Use, 30+ washes
-Hypoallergenic & dermatologist tested
-All-in-one means no extra bottles or loofahs = less shower clutter!
-Ultra moisturizing and skin smoothing

Spongelle would make the perfect gift for anyone in your life that needs to be pampered (including yourself)! I feel like giving a someone the gift of relaxation and a spa-like experience really says that you’re thinking of them and their well being. How perfect would this be for a Halloween goodie, instead of candy?! A sweet card and a Spongelle product would make such a lovely gift.

Right now you can save 20% off your order using the code: BBLOGGER20 through October 19, 2015. Check out their full range on their website and stop by their Instagram page to see more beautiful products.

SugarBash August Box Review & Unboxing

Hey Everyone! I know it’s been awhile. My life has been challenging lately, and I’ve been living through some things I never thought I would be facing. My family has been going through struggles that I never saw coming. I know this is very vague and I will try to write an “update” sort of post when I have the chance and my mind can make better sense of things. It’s hard to keep blogging when your head space is filled with things much more serious than makeup or shopping.

That being said- I have TRULY missed blogging regularly and I am trying my best to get back into the routine of posting more often.

I have quite a few reviews coming, starting with today’s SugarBash unboxing! I always love finding a new SB box at my door!

This month’s theme was “HOT! HOT! HOT!”- perfect for August! Where I live we’ve been melting right into September…
Take a peek inside:
SugarBash AugustSB-Aug-6 The Body Shop Smoky Poppy Shower Gel ($9.00 value): I love products from The Body Shop so I was thrilled to see this brand in my SugarBash box (their body butter is amazing!). This rich shower gel has a clean, fresh scent that could easily be unisex and a tiny bit turns into a thick, moisturizing lather.

City Color Lip & Cheek Stain ($6.00 value): 2 in 1 beauty products are my jam! Anything that makes my beauty routine a little easier is a winner in my book. This came in the color “Berry Sundae” and it lives up to its name with a berry red toned stain. It’s definitely buildable for more color on the lips, but it will also blend sheer for a wash of color on the cheeks. Keep this in your purse for touch ups throughout the day! [Read more…]
